About Me

Find out more about my background and experiences

My Background

I spent 10 years in the corporate world working in sales, marketing, HR and during this time gained experience in organisational psychology, leadership, coaching and executive coaching. This ignited a passion to discover pathways towards meaningful change, bring about increasing happiness and finding a deeper sense of inner peace. I embarked on a breadth and depth of reading, workshops and training which has helped me to find happiness and clarity about my direction in life.

I trained in Psychosynthesis counselling at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust which further deepened my ability to work on myself as well as train to support others. I threw myself into overcoming “my own stuff” knowing that I could better help others the more I was willing to do this myself. My journey of discovery has continued beyond my counselling training into many different spiritual and psychological workshops. A list of my qualifications and training experiences is included below.

I have worked as a counsellor within a University Student Counselling Service for over 13 years and during this time have worked with clients one-to-one and in workshops and groups. I have a particular passion and experience in running self-esteem, resilience, meditation and mindfulness groups. I’ve also run groups and workshops in a private setting blending counselling and coaching with my broader spiritual training.

“When we make the choice to fill our hearts space with unconditional love, our worlds blossom into a beauty far greater than we have known.”

Rio Godfrey

My Practice

I meditate daily and practice self-reflection and continual working on myself. Whilst I have found an approach that works for me, I very much believe in the importance of people finding their own unique pathway in accordance with their own beliefs and values. My blended approach is very much respectful of this.
